\”I honestly cannot attend school today because, while it might be fine and dandy up around St Iggy’s, down in my area it is still snowing bricks sideways and the roads are made entirely of fiery, awful accidents. So, if you could tell me what’s up in the classes we’d have together today, that’d be great!”

JV and Frosh Basketball Teams Continue Success
By MAC ROBINSON ’14
Eye Reporter
The end of the fall season can mean only one thing, it’s wildcat basketball time! Coming off great seasons, the JV, Freshman Blue, and Freshman Gold look for even more success this season.
The JV squad had a record of 15-5 in 2009-2010. This season, the JV squad is looking to build on that record with Alec Papesh, Francisco Santiago, and Matt Gawlick.
\”This is a very talented, high-spirited team. They play with intensity, tenacity, and Ignatian spirit. Matt Gawlick’s leadership and toughness, alongside Francisco Santiago’s dramatics are great examples for this team,”

Canned Food Drive
By SAHIL GOSAIN ’11
One of the most successful service programs Ignatius students participate in is the annual Christmas Food Drive. As Cleveland area families struggle to makes end meet during the current recession, this annual tradition is more important than ever.
According to Feeding America, 1 in 5 Ohio children experienced food insecurity in 2009. Nearly 22% of all Ohioans now struggle to put food on the table, an increase of 3% since 2007. In Cuyahoga Country alone, the number of people needing assistance is over 220,000.
Non-perishables, such as rice, pasta, and canned goods collected by the Ignatius community will be placed into baskets and delivered to households throughout the city. Students assist with sorting, packing, and loading the baskets into a semi-tractor trailer during Christmas in the Community service day on December 14.
