I hear Saint Ignatius High School singing, the varied carols I hear,
Those of IT, each one singing theirs as it should be cryptic and coded.
The Grounds Keepers singing theirs as they plant their bouquet of flowers or trees,
The Security singing theirs as they make ready for the lookout, or leave off the shift,
The Managers singing what belongs to them in their field, the Secretaries singing on the sideline,
The Builders singing as they sit on their worksite, the Students singing theirs as they prepare for class,
The Staff’s song, the Faculty’s on their way to the conference, or at Zoom, or at the office,
The Freshman Parents singing of goodbye, or of the young Freshman about to begin his journey, or of the Boy eating or working,
Each singing what belongs to the community–at school the board of education,
Singing with open mouths their strong melodious songs.
